COMMON QUESTIONS

Q: How do I block an app?

Chess Blocker works through iOS Shortcuts automations. During onboarding, you'll see instructions for setting up automations. You'll need to create a Shortcuts automation for each app you want to block: set the trigger to "When [App] opens" and add the "Block App (When App Opens)" action from Chess Blocker. The app provides detailed step-by-step instructions during setup.

Q: Can I change the difficulty of puzzles?

Yes! You can change the difficulty in Settings. Currently, only "Novice (Mate in 1)" puzzles are available. Additional difficulty levels (Intermediate, Advanced, Master) are coming in future updates.

Q: Is my data private?

Yes! All your data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to external servers. We don't collect analytics, track you, or share your information. Check our Privacy Policy for complete details.

Q: Does Chess Blocker require special permissions?

No! Chess Blocker doesn't require Screen Time permissions or any special system-level access. It works through iOS Shortcuts automations that you configure yourself. The app only receives the name of the app you selected in your Shortcuts automation, which is used locally to display which app is being blocked.
